Apple Crisp: Sweets for Skin Health

Hi Beauty Nerds,

Here is a recipe for a really yummy dessert that is also great for your skin! Try it out this holiday season!

Apple Crisp Recipe

1 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1/4 cup flax seed meal
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
Mix the dry mixture together.

1/3 cup of margarine (preferably the kind made with olive oil)
Use 2 knives and cut in margarine to dry mixture
Should look like oatmeal crumbs. If it looks too dry you might have to add a bit of margarine.

Prepare fruits. Use 4-5 large Macintosh apples, peel, core and slice it.
Add either frozen or fresh berries – about 2 cups

2nd mixture
2-3 tbsp of brown sugar
1 tbsp of flour
1/2 tsp of cinnamon
Mix this together and then mix into fruit mixture

Put fruits into a pan.
Add first mixture on top of fruits.
Bake at 350F for about 25-30 minutes. Check that the apples are soft by poking with a fork. Then it is ready to serve.
