Bioré Spa Party

I’m doing all that I can to unwind after three long years of being in school. So when Bioré contacted me several months ago, to ask if I would be interested in hosting an at-home spa party for me and 3 or 4 of my girlfriends, I couldn’t refuse. I ended up inviting several of my classmates from my MBA program, all of whom has contributed to Beauty Nerds in some way, shape or form. The result was a wonderful Saturday afternoon with some much needed pampering and delicious snacks. Check out the vanilla cupcakes that Bioré sent over… need I say more? Bioré sent over aestheticians from a mobile spa company, called Wright Spa, who then treated us to a couple hours of manicures, pedicures and facials.

Promptly at about 1pm in the afternoon, the aestheticians from Wright Spa, showed up at my condo and began transforming my little tiny space into a makeshift spa. Yes, we had to move some tables and chairs around, but it all worked out in the end. They also brought us matching silk robes for the occasion… you like?

Next, Joanna from Wright Spa, went through Bioré’s Skincare Collections in detail. That’s right ladies, nose strips are not the only products they make! Their skincare collections are categorized as either deep cleansing, complexion clearing or makeup removing. All of their products are meant to target the combination skin individual – especially those that may lack a balanced complexion due to late nights and early mornings (which described our student lifestyle perfectly :)). Their entire collection is made up 10 SKUs and for the sake of not overwhelming you, I’ve highlighted four of the products that was used on us during our facial.

From left to right:
Pore Unclogging Scrub: This scrub is really meant to unclog your pores. First, the spherical exfoliating beads sloughs off dead skin cells which can clog pores. Second, salicylic acid works to prevent future blackouts and zits. Retails for $9.99 CAD.

Combination Skin Balancing Cleanser: Formulated with Skin Purifying Technology, this cleanser attracts dirt and impurities and then whisks it away, without drying or stripping the skin. Retails for $9.99 CAD.

Blemish Fighting Ice Cleanser: If you want a cool, refreshing feel, you may want to opt for this cleanser. It works to fight off acne (yes, with salicylic acid) while soothing the skin with calming botanicals. Retails for $9.99 CAD.

Warming Anti-Blackhead Cream Cleanser: Have you ever tried any of the warming products? This warming sensation is created when the mineral clay ingredient called Zeolite reacts with water. Both the clay and salicylic acid clears out pores to combat breakouts. Retails for $9.99 CAD.

We chit chatted and had some really nice girl time! The pedicures were so relaxing and many of us needed one badly after the long winter months!

We managed to convince Danielle to try one of the new nail trends – painting her ring finger with a sparkly number, while keeping her other tips a neutral colour. We were loving it!

Now that summer is almost here, I hope all of you are taking a bit of time to slow down, relax and enjoy some “me” time…
