{Blush}

Follow up question from Karina’s post An MBA’s Beauty Essentials:
Alas, what I am now looking for is a good blush. What are your recommendations Miss Beauty Nerd? I’ve tried creams, powders, cream powders, stains, you name it. I’m looking for staying powder with natural looking results. And of course no fuss/low maintenance because I’m a busy gal :)
Cheers,

Hi Karina,
Thanks again for your wonderful post and your last question inquiring about blush recos! Three blushes immediately come to mind and they are as follows:
{1} NARS Blush in Orgasm – This blush is by far one of the best-selling blushes of all time. Why? Because the peachy-pink pigments give a perfectly natural glow that complements pretty much any skintone. Dusted with a subtle gold shimmer, your cheeks become instantly luminous. I can’t stop with my ‘glowing’ results for this blush, but I’m sure others agree because their momentum has barely slowed ever since their initial launch! In fact, NARS has now started spinning out extensions to this cult product, including Super Orgasm and Orgasm Illuminator. My fav is still the original though..

{2} Cargo Cosmetics Bronzer in Medium – I first tried this bronzer when I was working at Cargo and I have been hooked ever since. For summer, this is definitely my go-to bronzer. I love the instant summer glow that it imparts on the skin without being too orange. And you know me, I’m all about the faux-tan… :)

{3} Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour Blush – While I have not had the chance to purchase this one yet, I had to include it on my list because people cannot stop talking about this blush. It has garnered rave reviews for its long-lasting abilities and its incredible pigment intensity. That’s not to say that you can’t achieve a natural look – it just means you do not need to layer quite as heavily to get a noticeable amount of colour. Oh, and it’s great for combination skin because it is made with Amazonian clay, which will naturally help absorb excess oils.

To choose one, I would pay a visit to Sephora and play around with the testers to figure out which color and texture suits you best. Have so much fun and let me know how it goes!

xoxo,

    I’ve been wanted to try the NARS blush for a while. Now that I know it’s got “Beauty Nerd” approval, I think it’s finally time to get some! :)

    Thank you so much! Love that I have options to try out (but knowing me and how much I value your recos, I will probably end up buying them all…sigh!) I agree completely with @Divya that it’s good to know that the NARS one meets your stamp of approval. Sometimes there is so much hype but we never know if it’s true or not. Now my Top 10 list is complete :)

    Thanks Connie for the review. I really need to look into these blush/bronzer. I’ve been trying to find the perfect one. I love Sephora, but sometimes the workers are intimidating :(
