How was your weekend Beauty Nerds? I had such an eventful one. On Saturday, I attended an event hosted by Benefit Cosmetics, and I had a chance to meet Maggie Ford Danielson, the daughter of one of the founders of Benefit Cosmetics. She has been flying around the world promoting new Benefit launches, two of which are eyeshadow palettes for Fall: “Eye Wanna – The Maggie Collection” and ‘Eye Gotta – The Annie Collection‘ created by her and her sister, Annie, exclusively for Sephora. They collaborated with Barcelona designer, Pietari Posti to create these funky and stylized illustrations for their palettes.
Maggie’s Eye Wanna palette (the left palette in the picture below) boasts fun, yet sophisticated hues of plum and sapphires. Maggie says, “Eye Wanna! is for gals who have it all—and wanna shimmy all night long! With eye shadows in all shades of fabulosity, my kit will take you from work mode to party status in the blink of an eye. Go ahead, get noticed, and steal the scene!”
Her kit contains: 3 x 0.14 oz 3 In 1 Eyeshadow in Skyline (blue silver), Inked (midnight sapphire), Deco (fresh plum), 2 x 0.11 oz Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner in Static (shimmering pewter), Airbrush (pink pearl)
Annie’s Eye Gotta palette (on the right) is comprised of work-friendly shades of greens, purples and warm neutrals. Annie says, “Eye Gotta! is for gals who gotta look gorgeous all day…there are people to see, places to go, and things to do. My kit of enchanting eye shadows creates perfectly pretty, defined, fresh-looking eyes. You’ll be ready for whatever comes your way!”
Her kit contains: 3 x 0.14 oz 3 in 1 Eyeshadow in Canopy (warm nutmeg), Purple Haze (gilded purple), and Spiced (golden olive), 2 x 0.11 oz Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner in Flash (platinum fawn) and Foiled (shimmering sand)
Maggie was super sweet and was so energetic despite the fact that she had woken up at 5am that morning to catch her flight to Toronto. Doesn’t she look like a ray of sunshine?
And yes, she is amazingly tall. I thought I am tall (I’m over 5″7), but next to Maggie, I seem so short! :)
I love how they included their infamous creaseless cream eyeshadows in the palettes, which basically doubles as both your primer and eyeshadow base colour. Simply apply it all over your lids before you apply the powdered eyeshadows and your colour will stay put all day. The powder eyeshadows give just the right amount of payoff for easy, everyday wear. They are also extremely buildable, so you could increase the color intensity with a more heavy-handed application if you wanted to turn it up a notch for evening. Don’t know how to achieve this? Not to worry, each kit comes with instructions on how to achieve 3 different looks that you can use for either day or night. Gotta love the mini tutorials! The kits retail for about $36 each at Sephora.

Don’t wait too long Beauty Nerds – get them while they’re hot because they are limited edition for Fall only! Oh yes, and I did receive their new “They’re Real” mascara which I will review in a separate post – so stay tuned!
