Maybelline Dream Nude Airfoam + Lumi Touch

The humidity is starting to set in here and I find myself looking for a lighter weight foundation. Digging through my product closet over the weekend, I made the wonderful discovery of Maybelline’s Dream Nude Airfoam foundation and the Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer. I love these surprise finds when cleaning, don’t you? Both products are airy light and quite suitable for this muggy weather…

If you’re lusting after the YSL’s Touche Éclat, but don’t want to spend $40 on your concealer, try Maybelline’s Dream Lumi Touch. The dispenser is similar to YSL’s version – the concealer comes out of the brush. It brightens instantly and the texture is fairly lightweight, making it easy to blend and hide blemishes and dark circles alike. Better yet? It comes in 6 shades, unlike the 3-shade selection that I see in many other brands (don’t you hate that? I mean, how can so many skin tones possibly be covered by a mere 3 shades?). The price is extremely affordable at $11.99.

I have to admit, I’ve never used a foam-textured foundation before, so I when I picked up the Dream Nude Airfoam, I wasn’t sure what to expect. It was surprisingly light and dreamy, kind of like whipped cream. The product dispensed quickly (maybe a little too quickly), but I managed to put a dollop on the back of my hand and then proceeded to dab small amounts on my cheeks, blending the colour in with my fingertips. It does a great job of evening out my skin tone and creating a smooth, flawless finish. Tip: Make sure you shake the can well before use though, otherwise the pigment could dispense unevenly. The Dream Nude Airfoam is available in 12 shades and retails for $15.99 at drugstores and mass retailers.

So, what’s your foundation du jour during times of humid weather? I would love to hear your favs!
