New Year’s Resolutions

What a fantastic time I had with family this holiday season. With a nice break, and some time to reflect, here are 3 main resolutions that I have made for myself for 2011.

1. Make healthy eating choices – while most people may be planning drastic diets after the holiday season, I know that it’s not always a realistic and sustainable goal. Instead, I rather make smarter food choices. My little sister gave me some wise advise – lower the proportion of simple carbs that you eat (i.e. breads, rice, pasta, etc.) and increase the proportion of fruits and vegetables. There should be no limits to fruits and vegetables – so eat to your hearts content. Choosing antioxidant-rich fruits like blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries will also give that instant glow back into your complexion…

2. With a new year, we are bound to face a new set of challenges and stresses. This year, I would like to make a conscious effort to decompress when my body needs it. Trust me, your skin will thank you too! Personally, I like to unwind with a large, hot pot of milk oolong tea and a soothing, hydrating cloth face mask.

A nice warm bath with essential oils doesn’t hurt either…

3. Last but certainly not least, BE HAPPY! I cannot stress how much happiness will boost your overall well-being, self-esteem, overall energy and general likeability. And as a bonus, your skin will also be radiating from the inside out, who doesn’t want that? Happiness is contagious – let’s do our best to spread it around this year!!

What are your resolutions Beauty Nerds? Well, whatever they are, let me raise my glass of bubbly and say “cheers” to a brand new year!

xoxo,
