Paper Lashes, Adhesive Liners
10/21/11
I’ve been going gaga over all the artistic lashes that I’ve been spotting lately. It started when I was shopping at Paper Place with my friend for her wedding invitations and I saw these astonishingly intricate paper lashes made by Paperself. I was so close to purchasing a pair, but then talked myself out of it because I couldn’t imagine myself actually wearing them out. Where would I be going with these things on? ;) Aren’t they stunning though? Apparently, the patterns are inspired by the art of traditional Chinese paper cutting – another one of my obsessions! At $19 a pair, I may just cave and use Halloween as an excuse to sport them – what do you think?

These new forms of makeup must be trending because several weeks later, I went into Sephora and featured at the front of the store was Dior’s new limited edition collection of Backstage Eyeliners-To-Wear Multi-Wear Adhesive Eyeliner Patches (geez, that was a mouthful). The Sephora ‘cast member’ explained to me that they work almost like a sticker. All you have to do is to carefully place them on your eyelids for a bold, dramatic effect (although I highly doubt they are that easy to apply!). It comes with four pairs, 2 in black, 1 in grey and the last one decked out in Swarovski crystals. To purchase or not to purchase? Hmm.. I am a little worried that my hands will not be steady enough to apply it properly, but I am impressed that these eyeliners are reusable! I guess at $59 a box, they better be!
If I had to make a choice between the two, I think I am leaning more towards the paper lashes because gosh, they are just so pretty! Have you tried either of these products? What are your thoughts?
xoxo,
